Something to Celebrate
Brass Monkey Season©'s stunning clear days under wide blue skies provide the perfect atmosphere for celebration. Local events range from downright quirky demonstrations of community spirit to sophisticated affairs sponsored by the local wine industry. Warwick's Jumpers & Jazz in July sees music in the streets and deciduous trees minus there leaves but with custom knitted woolly jumpers on to keep them warm and colourful. Sporting events include the Historic Leyburn Motor Sprints that draw thousands of motorsport fans every year. Winter, wine and music has proved to be a successful local combination, with Lucas Estate and Ballandean Estate all treating us to musical spectaculars, complete with great local food and wine. It's not hard to find a market day on the Southern Downs & Granite Belt, with a roster rotating between the Glengallan Seasonal Farmers Markets, the Stanthorpe Market in the Mountains, the Border Railway Markets, Abbey Markets and the Warwick Pig & Calf Sales with Fruit & Vegie Market.
