Inglewood & Texas
Heading west from along the Cunningham Highway are the twin towns of Inglewood and Texas. A picturesque part of the Southern Downs region, Lake Coolmunda, Glenlyon Dam and the Dumaresq River are all popular fishing and boating locations. Inglewood boasts plantings of over 340,000 olive trees and is home to an award-winning lavender farm. Leave the beaten track in a 4WD or test your golfing skills on a local course. For a bit of history a visit to the Inglewood or Texas museums is a must and of particular interest in Texas is the Riverside Freezing Works & Rabbit Factory. Take a picnic to enjoy at any one of the scenic locations in the area. There are a number of tourist drives in the region highlighting the agriculture, history and the area's natural beauty.
